Synopsis

In a future where books are banned and destroyed by "firemen" who build blazes rather than extinguish them, one such enforcer, Guy, begins to question his role in an oppressive society. When a teacher opens Guy's eyes to the wonders of literature, he secretly begins to read while his wife obsessively watches a wall-sized TV. Once his unlawful reading is exposed, Guy must flee and finds refuge in a camp whose residents are united in their efforts to ensure that great literature will never die.
