Wonder Woman’ was an absolute hit for DC Comics, but the character had an interesting early past.
William Moulton Marston (Luke Evans) was a psychologist, inventor who actually helped create the modern polygraph test, and best known under the pen name Charles Moulton. With the help of the women in his life, his wife Elizabeth Marston (Rebecca Hall) and his student turned polyamorous lover for the two of them Olive Byrne (Bella Heathcote), they would create Wonder Woman. The early comics used violence and bondage, but little did people know that this mimicked the creator’s sexual life.
The film seems interesting with something that many people would not have known about beforehand. ‘Professor Marston & the Wonder Women’ releases October 27, 2017.
