‘Flight’: Denzel Washington Pulls a ‘Sully’ Sullenberger — TRAILER

Flight Denzel WashingtonThe first trailer for the Denzel Washington-starring, Robert Zemeckis-directed drama Flight has made its way online, and let’s just say that this movie does not appear suitable for aerophobes (like yours truly).

In the film — which seems to be somewhat inspired by the 2009 flight that Chesley Sullenberger and his crew helped save, and the pandemonium that followed — Washington plays an airline pilot who miraculously averts disaster when a plane he is piloting malfunctions and plummets to the ground. He is quickly hailed a national hero, but it doesn’t take long before his personal dirt is dug up, jeopardizing his public image and much more.

Don Cheadle, John Goodman, and Melissa Leo also star in Zemeckis’s first live-action movie since 2000’s Cast Away. Check out the trailer for Flight below and catch it in theaters on Nov. 2.
