Wrestlers have tried and failed, to get their start in the film business.
Sure Dwayne Johnson is a bonified star now, and Dave Bautista has certainly made a claim to the silver screen, but many have failed at trying to make it. John Cena has been knocking on films door for a while now, and I believe he has finally found his place in comedy. Standing out in Trainwreck, hilarious in Sisters, as well as his comedy in the ring and on Total Divas points him to the direction of comedy, and it’s no different in his newest film ‘Blockers’.
Three parents (Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz, and John Cena) are only friends because their daughters have been friends for years. Their parents so they’re always worried about what their high school seniors are up to. Prom night is the night that they decide to lose their virginities, and when the parents stumble upon this Sexpact they plan to stop it any way possible. That includes spinning out in a minivan, electrocutions, and a beer butt chug contest.
‘Blockers’ releases April 6, 2018.
