George Clooney’s Next Role is ‘Up in the Air’

George Clooney is in talks to star in Up in the Air, an adaptation of the 2001 Walter Kirn novel with Jason Reitman directing.

The lead role will see Clooney play an unapologetic corporate downsizer whose life is consumed by collecting air miles.

The project has been around for a while with Reitman cobbling together a script over the past five years.

Clooney is currently promoting the Coen brothers’ Burn After Reading and will voice a character in The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Wes Anderson’s animated adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel.

Reitman received an Oscar nomination this year for directing Juno.
