After 7 films spanning over 6 years we thought we were done with the horrors that came from the Saw franchise. So did the studios apparently, as Saw 3D was supposed to be the last planned film. Plans change and 7 years since the last film, we have Jigsaw.
The story takes place a decade after the death of the Jigsaw killer. Serial killers are not something that people want to return in real life, but when a session of murders fit the modus operandi of Jigsaw it can be assumed that he, or a copycat killer, is back. The film took writers, directors, and brothers Michael and Peter Spierig over 2 years to convince Lionsgate that this was the best time for their adaptation of the Saw franchise to come back.
In the above interview go behind the camera and into the traps of ‘Jigsaw’. The Spierig brothers discuss using practical effects and staying true to the franchise, Matt Passmore tells us why the brothers are the perfect fit for the franchise, Clé Bennett talks about the moment he realizes he’s in a Saw movie, and Hannah Emily Anderson says what she thought of the Saw premise.
‘Jigsaw’ releases October 27, 2017.
