In ‘Life of the Party’ Melissa McCarthy’s character goes through the worst midlife crisis.
Her daughter (Gordon) goes off to college and her husband divorces her for another attractive woman. She’s left to hang with her bff Christine (Rudolph) and she wants to know what to do with her life. She realizes she never finished college and decides to go back to the same school her daughter attends, and then hilarity and growth ensues.
In the above interview Director (and McCarthy’s Husband) Ben Falcone goes into the story, Maya Rudolph talks about working with Falcone and McCarthy, Molly Gordon discusses what it’s like to work with and learn from McCarthy, Deby Ryan explains why being the mean girl was awful in this movie, Gillian Jacobs tells us about Melissa’s generous nature, and Melissa McCarthy says why she wanted to do this film.
‘Life of the Party’ releases May 11, 2018.
