Let’s be honest the entire idea of ‘Bright’ is kind of strange.
It’s a cop drama in LA, but Orcs, Fairies, Elves, and magic are involved. Human Cop Daryl Ward (Smith) has to partner up with an Orc in Nick Jakoby (Edgerton) whose been shunned by the Orc community and hated by everyone else, including Daryl. When a magical wand is found that everyone wants and would kill for, it’s Nick and Daryl against magical beings and humans in order to save the world.
Told ya, kind of weird, but despite what critics have been saying (28% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes), fans have fallen in love with the drama (11 Million views in three days), and it’s already greenlit for a second film. In the above interview, we go behind the scenes and hear from Director David Ayer about trying to create the action of the otherworldly creatures, Noomi Rapace, Edgar Ramírez, and Lucy Fry go into the training that they had to do in order to make the film, and Joel Edgerton and Will Smith tell us why people would love the film, and the moment the realized this film was something special.
‘Bright’ can be streamed on Netflix now.
