Being a comic book hero is tough. Being Wonder Woman is even more difficult.
Not only do you have comic book fans scrutinizing you’re every move, Warner Bros counting on your film to make money, but you also have countless women who count on you to be a superhero that young girls can look up to.
Gal Gadot had to deal with those things even before she started filming. Gadot had only done modeling (winning the 2004 Miss Israel competition) and a couple of small roles, but never anything this big that required her to lead a franchise. She first appeared in the second Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer and did well, but how would she do in her own film? As it turns out pretty damn well, as the film reviews are coming in and currently Wonder Woman has a 97 % fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is being called the best DC comics film since The Dark Knight.
In the above interview go behind the scenes where Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen discuss the training that Gadot and the rest of the Amazons went through, and Gal Gadot and Chris Pine talk about their training, the locations they got to go film at, and why Wonder Woman is the hero we need now.
Wonder Woman is in theaters June 2, 2017.
