The story of ‘Leap’ is one of old.
A girl (Elle Fanning) is an Orphan girl who has dreams of becoming a ballerina. Her best friend Victor (Nat Wolff or Dane DeHaan depending on what version you’re watching) is an inventor and the two venture off to Paris to follow their dreams.
If you’re reading this out of the US and thinking I’ve seen this movie a year ago, you might have. The film first premiered with the name Ballerina at the Mon premier Festival on October 19, 2016, and was released in France, the UK in December of 2016, and Canada in February of 2017. Weinstein Company bought the US distribution rights and had planned to premiere it in April, but pushed it back to the 30th, and then up to finally August 25.
In the above video, go behind the voices with Kate McKinnon, Maddie Ziegler, and Nat Wolff as they discuss what it’s like to work on an animated film.
Leap releases August 25, 2017.
