The Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy has been a surprisingly great prequel to the original.
We started with 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes where a young scientist tests a virus on his chimpanzee Caesar which mutates him to have super intelligence. Caesar then recruits other apes for what he knows will be a war in 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Now in the finale, it will be Caesar’s war against humans in ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’.
There has been only one character in all of the Planet of the Apes reboot franchise, and that character has had one incredible person behind him; Andy Serkis. In the above interview Steve Zahn discusses the MoCap suits and what he found the most difficult part about it, Director Matt Reeves explains how Andy’s performance is more than just a Motion Capture suit, Woody Harrelson talks about Andy’s acting abilities and Andy Serkis says how MoCap doesn’t differ from any other acting gig.
War for the Planet of the Apes releases July 14, 2017.
