Goldie and daughter to go on trial for alleged Glastonbury assault

British musician and actor Goldie and his teenage daughter are to face trial over an alleged assault on a security guard at this year’s (17) Glastonbury festival.
The drum and bass pioneer, real name Clifford Joseph Price, and his daughter Chance Marie Price, 19, appeared at Yeovil Magistrates Court in Somerset, England on 16 November (17), where they pleaded not guilty to one charge of assault.
According to the Somerset Live website, Goldie, who performed at the festival, is accused of pushing and scratching security guard Dennis Poole after Chance was denied access to a restricted area behind Glastonbury’s famous Pyramid Stage.
She is alleged to have kicked the guard after he fell to the ground during the incident on 23 June (17) – the Friday of the festival.
District Judge David Taylor adjourned the case to allow a trial date and location to be decided, with another hearing scheduled for Friday (24Nov17).
Goldie rose to fame in the early 1990s rave scene, as a pioneer of drum and bass or jungle music.
He starred in the 1999 James Bond film The World Is Not Enough and is a popular TV star in Britain, having appeared in the soap opera EastEnders, and as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother and Strictly Come Dancing.
