Heists robbed Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna of their fashion boutique dreams

Hollywood couple Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna have given up their dreams of becoming style store royalty after three robberies.
The actors tasted success as the owners of Los Angeles boutique Belle Gray, but three heists in 45 days back in 2010 took the fun out of their business.
One robbery took place while the couple was promoting a new TV show live on air in New York – Hamlin took the call as the pair was being interviewed on breakfast TV show Today.
Hamlin now tells WENN there are no plans to relaunch Belle Gray as a store venture.
“That was one of the things that caused us to shut down the bricks and mortar part of our business,” he explains. “Now it’s much more successful on (TV shopping channel) QVC.”
Looking back, Mad Men star Harry admits it’s still somewhat of a joke that someone like him once co-owned a fashion boutique.
“I’m not at all a clotheshorse,” he adds. “You will never find me in a store. Most of the stuff I have I either got from movies I’m in or Lisa bought for me.
“The black jacket I’m wearing now was one of four of the same jacket from (TV show) Veronica Mars. I was in a fight scene and they thought the jacket would get destroyed. They had one left over and they gave it to me. That was 10 years ago, so I’m obviously not up to date but it held up.
“The clothing business came up when we were sitting at the kitchen table looking at In Style magazine and there was a photo of Lisa that said, ‘Always stylish Lisa Rinna’, and I said, ‘You’re in the magazines for your clothes, we should do something about that’. And we started a retail business for eight years until we were robbed out of it, literally.”
