Muggles and no-majs alike effectively sh*t a brick when J.K. Rowling announced late last year that the play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was coming to the London stage in the summer of 2016. The play will act as a direct sequel to the magical franchise, and will follow the relationship between Harry and his youngest son, Albus Severus. Tickets to the two-part play pretty much sold out as soon as they became available, and most of us thought we were only going to hear about it through the grapevine. We should have known that Mama Rowling would never leave us hanging like that. Harry Potter an the Cursed Child is set to be released in book form this summer. Until then, here is everything you need to know about it.
When will it be out?

The novelization of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II will hit bookstore shelves and e-reader devices July 31, 2016. If that day looks familiar to you, it’s became it’s also Harry Potter’s 36th birthday. TWERK!
What’s the book about?
Since the cast has already been announced for the play, we know that Hermione and Ron are also very much a part of this story. However, in a press release from Scholastic the following details were given, “It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.” We just want to know if we’ll also be seeing a grown-up Draco.
How many galleons will the book cost yah?
For $14.99 USD, you can snatch up the book for yourself. What a bargain! We would have gladly participated in the Triwizard Tournament for our copy.
This manuscript is not apart of Rowling’s original series.

To be clear, this manuscript is not technically a part of Rowling’s original saga, its simply a “Special Rehearsal Edition” of the script which she has so lovingly bestowed upon us humble no-majs for our reading pleasure. Also, this “Special Rehearsal Edition” won’t be the only version of the The Cursed Child that we see. Since this first version is based on the script used during the play’s previews it is subject to change, and with change means the very real possibility of a second edition.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child isn’t the only treat we’re getting this year!
As you hopefully already know, the film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will premiere in theaters November 18, 2016. To accompany the film, a new edition of the book will also be hitting the shelves with commentary from Rowling. In 2017, four new Hogwarts House themed editions of the original Harry Potter books will roll, out as well as new editions of Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard. What did we ever do to deserve such glory?!!
BRB, this is literally to much for our poor muggle hearts!
