The One Percent may be a recent term, but the idea of the money-grubbing man at the top isn’t something new. It’s been a trope of movies for decades. In the new film, Tower Heist, Alan Alda plays Arthur Shaw, a money wiz so cold, he screws all of his employees out of their retirement money. But where does he fit amongst the other One Percent of Hollywood history? We pitted him against some of our favorite greed-loving characters — Gordon Gekko from Wall Street, Charles Widmore from Lost and Mr. Waternoose from Monsters Inc — to see how he stacks up.
