Hugo Weaving In Talks For ‘Captain America’ Villain?

Hugo Weaving (The Lord Of The Rings and The Matrix trilogies) is reportedly in talks to play the villain Red Skull in Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios’ The First Avenger: Captain America.

The rumor actually makes sense, since the Australian thesp worked with the film’s director, Joe Johnston, previously on February’s The Wolfman.

Johnston and the studio are currently casting Steve Rogers/Captain America.

The film, about a scrawny Army recruit turned powerful WWII patriot is expected to hit theaters on July 22, 2011.
