Jewish life in Poland before the Holocaust is documented. The experiences of people of all ages, from villages and large cities, and from religious and secular families are examined. Their stories are told through footage and photographs from the period, and in interviews from survivors of the era. Interviews include the former mayor of Scarsdale, New York, who talks about the Polish patriotism he felt in his youth, and a housewife from Brooklyn who sings Yiddish songs that she learned in Warsaw as a child.
