Breaking Dawn 2

TwiHards and movie fans who have watched the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 (by now thousands of times) know that the movie ends in a gigantic showdown between the Volturi and the Cullens (and all of their respective supporters). The two groups face off on a snowy plain and then hurtle towards one another, eager for battle. It is exciting, it is terrifying, and it is totally not in the book. Believe it or not, Stephenie Meyer‘s novel ends in peace. Not a single punch is thrown, not a single head is bitten off (okay so this might not happen in the movie either, but chances are it will).

Of course, Breaking Dawn is hardly the first movie adaptation to leave fans of the source material fuming. Launch our gallery for 12 other movies that decided to go off the book.
