Ivy Queen leads Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees

Puerto Rican music icon Ivy Queen and salsa legend Willie Colon are set to be inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF).
They join singer/songwriter Michael Sullivan, composer Chico Novarro, and musician Armando Larrinaga in the Class of 2019, voted for by the public following their inclusion on a shortlist of 24 nominees in March (19).
“We are absolutely delighted to be able to welcome this outstanding Class of 2019 Inductees into the ranks of the world’s greatest songwriters and composers of the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame,” LSHOF Chairman/CEO, Rudy Perez and President, Delia Orjuela, share in a statement issued to Billboard.com.
“Their invaluable contributions to the world prove the vital importance of diverse expression and the immeasurable and unifying power of music. These esteemed music creators make us proud, and we are thrilled to recognise their life’s work and long-standing commitment to excellence with this honour.”
This year’s crop of celebrated stars will be feted at the seventh annual La Musa Awards ceremony in Miami, Florida on 24 October (19).
Last year’s honourees included Gloria Trevi, Fernando Osorio, and Chucho Valdes.
