Not since J. Edgar Hoover has anyone been as obsessed with secrets as J.J. Abrams. Deadline.com has learned that Paramount has signed the multi-hyphenate to direct an untitled (of course) “mystery adventure” that he and writer Billy Ray (Pan, A Captain’s Duty) hatched together. Not much is known about the project, but expect an inscrutable but nonetheless enthralling trailer to pop up during the next Super Bowl telecast.
Ray is quite the busy screenwriter these days, currently at work on the script for the mildly anticipated 24 movie, which star Kiefer Sutherland claims is “almost done.”
