Jamie Lee Curtis teases ‘sensational’ conclusion to Halloween franchise

Jamie Lee Curtis has promised there will be a “sensational” conclusion to the Halloween franchise.

The 60-year-old actress first appeared in the 1978 original, Halloween, and reprised her role as Laurie Strode in the eleventh installment of the horror movie saga last year (18).

Speaking to Collider, the star, who will return in Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, which will be released in 2020 and 2021, respectively, teased fans will be satisfied by the conclusion of the upcoming movies.

“The last movie is the sort of cultural phenomenon of violence, that’s what the third movie ultimately is, a very powerful examination of violence,” she shared. “If you believe in me at all, I promise you what (director) David Gordon Green has come up with as a way to complete this trilogy is sensational.”

Curtis, who scooped the Best Actress trophy for her portrayal of Laurie at the Saturn Awards on Friday (September 13th), added the new movies “unpack” the issues raised in the early films, explaining they “bring back all those characters whose lives were affected by what happened in 1978”.

And the star was keen to reprise the role to investigate the challenges Laurie faced after years of being hunted by serial killer Michael Myers.

“I was particularly drawn because it was a movie about trauma… I felt was very important that David understood that and was really giving Laurie great honor to acknowledge that her experience of her life was very challenged.”
