Jesus and Mary Chain offered AK-47s in Brazil

Scottish rockers The Jesus And Mary Chain had a terrifying time during a trip to Brazil when they discovered high-powered assault rifles for sale on a beach. The cult band, who reunited in 2007 after an eight-year split, headed to South America earlier this year (14) for some low-key gigs, but they were in for a shock when they went to relax on Rio de Janeiro’s famous waterfront.
The band’s manager Alan McGee tells Uncut magazine, “All the gigs were f**king amazing, mass singalongs and all that b**locks. But it got slightly strange too – in Rio de Janeiro, on Copacabana Beach, we got offered AK-47s!”
