Eddie Redmayne may be the star of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, but he’s gaining a new co-star in the much-anticipated sequel. Johnny Depp will officially be joining the cast of the J.K. Rowling-created Harry Potter spinoff.
There’s no word on exactly what role Depp with play, but Deadline confirms that he will work along Redmayne who is returning as Newt Scamander. The film will be directed by David Yates and begin filming early next year.
Depp is keeping busy since his very public divorce from Amber Heard. He is set to complete the mystery Murder On The Orient Express before hopping over to film Fantastic Beasts. Depp is also slated to take a role in Labryinth, a drama about the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls and star in The Invisible Man.
