It isn’t easy living down a bad reputation, and recent reports aren’t helping the “Runaway Bride,” Julia Roberts.
New York magazine is reporting that Roberts hasn’t necessarily been very lovey-dovey with boyfriend/actor Benjamin Bratt. In fact, the magazine says they haven’t seen each other in quite some time.
As you might remember, the “Pretty Woman” and “Runaway Bride” starrer has a track record of leaving her men in the dust. She dumped fiancé Kiefer Sutherland for “Speed II” hunk Jason Patric, and her marriage to country singer Lyle Lovett was short-lived at best.
She’s in Mexico, filming her latest flick, “The Mexican.” He’s relatively nearby, filming “Miss Congeniality” in Texas, yet neither one has taken the time to visit the other on their sets, the magazine reports.
But if you ask their reps, nothing can be further from the truth.
“That is not the case,” says a spokesman in Bratt’s camp. “They are still together, and they have both been to each other’s set.”
“There is no truth to these reports, they are total fabrications,” says Roberts’ publicist. “They are very happy and very fine. There are no problems.”
So if Julia and Benjamin are so happy, what’s keeping them from tying the knott? An MSNBC columnist has reported that it’s not Julia who’s having problems committing, rather Bratt is the one not willing to get tied down.
Can there be a “Runaway Groom” in the works?
