Kate Winslet’s ‘Titanic’ Screen Test Opposite a ‘Clueless’ Jack — VIDEO


Certain big screen performances are so iconic and so truly specific to the actors that played them that it’s difficult to imagine anyone else occupying their roles. For instance, Titanic. Is there anyone on Earth other than Kate Winslet who you could even picture donning that dress, spouting those lines, and clutching that drowning plebeian at the end of James Cameron’s classic romance? Believe it or not, there was a time before Rose meant Kate Winslet — a time when the now legendary actress actually had to audition.

Winslet’s screen test for Titanic has hit the web in conjunction with the film’s Blu-ray release, gifting the world with a glance at her early attempts at embodying Cameron’s heroine. What makes it better is that she auditions opposite not Leonardo DiCaprio, but CluelessJeremy Sisto. Check it out below:
