Kenneth Branagh to Go ‘Literary’ in Place of ‘Thor’ Sequel?

ALTHaving opted out of the big payday (but all-around headache) that would’ve been Thor 2Kenneth Branagh has set his sights on smaller fare, in the form of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. Say that five times fast!

The British writer/director/actor is in talks to helm the adaptation of the 2008 bestselling book of the same name, written by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Guernsey is set in London during World War II and centers on an author dealing with the aftermath of writing about war.

The Opposite of Sex filmmaker Don Roos already finished the script, but filming won’t begin until next spring.
