Kevin Costner Drops Out of Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’

Kevin CostnerWhat the hell, Kevin Costner? Why on earth would anybody drop out of a Quentin Tarantino movie? Especially a Quentin Tarantino “Southern” (it’s like a Western, but lower) revenge piece set in the times of American slavery?

For whatever unimaginable reason, the big KC has dropped out of Django Unchained. He was supposed to play Ace Woody, assistant to the despicable Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), plantation owner who runs slave fights for entertainment. Woody’s role in Candie’s plantation is that of slave fight trainer.

There is no word on who will accept this now available role, but I bet tons of actors befitting of the casting description are thanking the heavens for Costner’s absence. To be part of a Tarantino movie is everyone’s dream. EVERYONE.

Jamie Foxx will star as Django, alongside Christoph Waltz (Django’s bounty hunting associate), Samuel L. Jackson (Candie’s slave and right-hand man), and the recent addition of Gerald McRaney.

In all honesty, I was looking forward to Costner in the role. Tarantino exploded expectations with Travolta in Pulp Fiction, and I was hoping for another twist of glory in the form of Costner. Alas, this is not to be. But it doesn’t mean anyone is going to be any less excited for this movie.
