La Bete to close ‘on a high’

The comedy, starring David Hyde Pierce and Joanna Lumley, will close on 9 January (11), five weeks earlier than expected.

The show has seen weekly sales of up to $350,000 (£233,000) since its launch in September (10), and bosses have agreed to end its run in the New Year (11) to avoid the traditionally low audience turnout in February.

Producer Sonia Friedman tells Variety, “Given that it’s the worst time of year without question, we wanted to protect ourselves from that and could go out with the show on a high.”
