Movies Affected By the WGA and SAG-AFTRA Strike

While actors and writers strike in Hollywood, many movies that are in production remain at standstill. Here is a comprehensive list of all the movies and shows affected by the historic SAG-AFTRA strike. 

 Beetlejuice 2 

Beetlejuice 2 was in the production stage, however, some of the scenes were scheduled to be shot in Vermont during the strike period. If the production requires any additional shoot days at this point, there is likely to be a further delay in the movie’s release.

Captain America: Brave New World

It has been reported that Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World concluded filming just before the onset of the actors’ strike. However, it is important to note that even though the filming has been completed, the movie may still be impacted by the strike.

TV Shows Affected By the WGA and SAG-AFTRA Strike

Abbott Elementary 

Initially, the show was already on hold due to the WGA strike, and now the actors have joined in solidarity. Before the WGA strike started, Quinta Brunson supported her fellow writers and actors, hoping they can “get what they need”. 

 Cobra Kai 

The production time for the season will be stretched out from the strike. We’ll have to be patient longer for the epic conclusion of the show. Hang tight though, because the production team is determined to deliver an awesome season despite these setbacks.

Stranger Things 

With stranger things, there was already a pause in production due to the WGA strike. Now, the current situation has made things a little trickier. 

This only means that the team behind the show is working extra hard to bring fans an amazing fifth season once they’re able to resume filming. So let’s keep our hopes up that a deal is reached soon and we can all enjoy the next chapter of Stranger Things!

As of July 20, 2023 negotiations between the union and the production companies are still ongoing.
