Little Shots of Happiness | 1997
Frances, a bored 9-to-5er, decides to leave her mentally unstable husband and begins to live out of her office, unbeknownst to her co-workers. During the work day she assumes the shifting identities of a credit collection agency's nagging voice on people's voicemail and answering machines; by evening, she begins to change for real. Each night she goes to a different bar in Boston, forcing herself out of her prim, protected existence by meeting and picking up different men. The characters she encounters on these nocturnal sojourns range from Brian, a horny barfly, to Bill, a drummer in a rock band, to a neurotic antique collector. It is through these chance meetings that Frances sheds parts of herself that were never really "her" in the first place.
