Losing It | 1999
On a cross-cultural world tour from New York to Siberia to Italy to Brazil and Hong Kong, a chronicle which reveals the aspirations and realities of people living in societies that seem to have universally discounted them or made them invisble. Directing from a wheelchair, filmmaker Sharon Greytak physically travels the same roads and faces the same obstacles as her subjects. She gets inside their heads, weaving their personal stories. The survey captures the aspirations and realities of people living with physical disabilities and how their resilience allows them to overcome vulnerability and carve out a sense of purpose and worth.
