Lyon, France: It is March 1943. As World War II rages, the French Resistance movement fights on. Activist Raymond Samule, whose underground pseudonym is "Raymond Aubrac" and his wife Lucie Bernard, a.k.a. "Lucie Aubrac," work against the occupying Nazi forces. On June 21st, 1943, Raymond is arrested in Caluire. Raymond is found guilty of war crimes against the Germans, and is sentenced to death. His last--only--chance for survival is Lucie.
