Mad Max delayed again

The fourth film in the franchise, starring Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, is a reboot of Mel Gibson’s original 1979 action picture and will be shot back-to-back with a sequel.

The blockbuster was due to begin production in Australia next month (Nov10), but was delayed until February (11).

And now the shoot has been put back again – with reports suggesting work on Mad Max won’t begin until 2012.

Hugh Gough, who was due to provide accommodation for the film crew, claims the production company’s bookings for February (11) have now been pushed back.

He tells Australia’s ABC News, “I would call it a kick in the guts. We have now cleared the bookings that we had made for substantial periods of time in early 2011, and certainly very significantly from April to July of 2011.”

The two films, Mad Max: Fury Road and Mad Max: Furiosa, will be the fourth and fifth installments in the popular franchise.
