A French madam whose clients reportedly included actors Marlon Brando and Rex Harrison has died at the age of 92.
Madame Claude passed away in a hospital in Nice on Monday (21Dec15).
Claude, born Fernande Grudet, was known as the “most famous madam in the world” and boasted high-level clients, allegedly including late U.S. President John F. Kennedy, the Shah of Iran, and late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Claude, who once served as a French Resistance fighter, started selling bibles door-to door before managing a brothel near Paris’ Champs-Elysees.
In the 1970s, she was reportedly prosecuted for “tax-related issues” and was also found guilty of pimping in the 1990s.
She was portrayed on the big screen by French actress Francoise Fabian in 1977’s The French Woman.
