Margot Robbie and Sebastian Stan premiered their new film I, Tonya at the Village East Cinema in New York City.
The Wolf of Wall Street star plays the fallen figure skater, which chronicles the real-life drama surrounding the attack on her fellow Olympian and ice rival Nancy Kerrigan at the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit, Michigan.
Harding was accused of concocting a scheme with her then-husband Jeff Gillooly and one of her bodyguards, Shawn Eckardt, to sabotage Kerrigan’s chances at that year’s Winter Olympics.
The incident spelled the end of Harding’s sporting career, but she has always denied any role in the ambush. Tonya was implicated in a plot to disable Nancy and expelled from the U.S. Figure Skating Association.
I, Tonya also stars Sebastian Stan as Gillooly, Caitlin Carver as Kerrigan, and Allison Janney as Harding’s abusive mother, LaVona Harding.
The film will be in theaters December 8.
