Marianne Faithful battles illness at London gig

Music legend Marianne Faithful referred to herself as “disabled” on stage at a London concert as she struggled through the set due to ongoing health problems.
The 69-year-old star performed at the British capital’s Roundhouse venue on Tuesday (02Feb16), and she hobbled on stage with a walking stick.
According to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, the star spoke candidly about her medical issues during the show, telling the audience, “It’s very hard with all these terrible injuries and Le Faithfull (sic) actually ending up disabled. I’ve had three years of this s**t (health problems).”
Earlier this week (beg01Feb16), the 1960s pop icon told Britain’s The Guardian she has been battling various injuries over the years, as well as lung condition emphysema.
“I do my inhalations for my emphysema, and then I go back to bed until 8.30,” she explained. “I’ve just been through three years when I’ve had the most terrible accidents, including a bone infection. I am just coming to terms with being disabled.”
The singer has been battling ill-health for a decade – in 2006, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and a year later (07), she revealed she had contracted Hepatitis C.
