Max Baer, Jr. sues CBS over restaurant venture

TV actor Max Baer, Jr. is suing bosses at the CBS network for allegedly breaching the conditions of their proposed restaurant chain venture. Baer, Jr. played Jethro in 1960s sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies and allegedly made a deal with CBS officials to develop a chain of themed restaurants, casinos and hotels based on the popular comedy.
In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ.com, Baer, Jr. claims he had the exclusive rights to use the themes and characters from the show for the venture, but he has since discovered a similar restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa.
Baer, Jr. has accused CBS bosses of making a secret deal with the owners of that BBQ joint and letting them use his Jethro character, which he allegedly has the exclusive rights to.
