Mindy Kaling ready to be Good in Bed

New mum Mindy Kaling is plotting her return to TV as a mother-of-two by signing on for a small screen adaptation of the New York Times bestseller Good In Bed.

The Ocean’s 8 star will lead the cast in the new film for U.S. streaming service HBO Max, based on author Jennifer Weiner‘s 2001 debut, about a rising journalist who overcomes issues surrounding self-esteem, a breakup, and her unconventional family with the help of her movie star best friend.

Kaling will also serve as a producer for Good in Bed, which will be adapted by Lost and Barry screenwriter Liz Sarnoff.

It’s the first acting project announced for Kaling since recently revealing she secretly gave birth to her second child, son Spencer, last month (Sep 2020).

Being pregnant in COVID was scary

However, she has been keeping busy with her writing work, developing a second season of her hit Netflix teen drama Never Have I Ever, and penning upcoming comedy series The Sex Lives of College Girls and Expecting.

She is also working on the script for the third film in the Legally Blonde franchise, starring her pal Reese Witherspoon.
