‘Mission: Impossible III’ Blast Victim Sues

A man who was the victim of a blast on the set of Mission: Impossible 3 is suing the county and city of Los Angeles for not protecting him from danger.

Scott Wheatley claims he was badly burned on 60 percent of his body while he was clearing up a stunt blast after a test on the film’s set at the Agua Dulce Movie Ranch in California last June.

Wheatley and his wife Mary are each seeking $15 million from the Office of the State Fire Marshall and the city and county councils for suffering, lost wages, emotional distress and other damages.

Wheatley was standing near a vehicle that blew up on the set while it was being detonated and had to be taken to hospital.
