His mega-sized cranium can barely fit his super-sized ego. Meet the evil Gallaxhar, megalomaniac alien at-large — voiced by Rainn Wilson. Travelling by tentacles, he slinks about in his hover-craft, sending robot probes into the universe — on a mission to find the all-powerful chemical ‘quantonium,’ which he locates on planet Earth … of course. Poor, poor earthlings!

Puttin’ the move on Jell-O?! What a one-track mind! Yup, food’s his god — doesn’t his waistline prove it? Captured back in 1958, B.O.B. was conceived as a spontaneous accident: part-genetically-engineered-tomato-meets-part-ranch-flavored-dessert-topping. He’s loopy, limber, loyal and brainless. His heroic potential: he’s an “indestructible gelatinous mass.” His flaw: the inability to think things through. For B.O.B., voiced by Seth Rogen, whatcha see is whatcha get!

Team Monster

Formerly a cute ‘n’ harmless baby grub — but thanks to being hit by nuclear radiation — the Insectosaurus was born: a destructive, 350-feet-tall monster who wreaked a bit of havoc on Japan, by using its skyscrapers to teeth on. No, Insectosaurus doesn’t talk; but don’t hold that against him. He makes roaring noises which only his best bud, The Missing Link, can understand. His heroic powers: shooting silk from his nostrils. His Achilles heel: visual A.D.D.; he’s too easily hypnotized.

A brown, bulbous exoskeleton protects the greatest brain on the Earth! Meet Dr. Cockroach — product of a teleportation device that backfired, he wound up with the head of a cockroach, filled with plans for world domination. A master inventor, this charming sophisticate was captured in 1952 and is a key player in defeating the aliens. His prowess: his dexterous mind. His flaw: his inventions always have side effects. This calculating genius, voiced by Hugh Laurie, is indeed B.O.B.’s opposite.

The Missing Link
Team Monster

Ever wondered what “the missing link looked like? Well, there you go: a half-ape/half-fish link between prehistoric man and our water-breathing ancestors. A bit of a ladies’ man, The Missing Link was in military prison for 50 years, after being caught for terrorizing the patrons of a resort he once called home — his former lagoon. He’s got a bod that just needs a little more gym time. Heroic qualities: high-speed swimming and underwater breathing; His Achilles heel: the ladies. Voiced by Will Arnett, The Missing Link reminds us: once a jock

Derek Dietl, Groom
Earthling

This earnest happy groom is just about to receive the shock of his life. You’re thinking, because he’s voiced by Paul Rudd, Derek is just about to be refused by his bride, Susan Murphy, who’s about to go ballistic over his man dating. No — wrong movie! Instead, he’s just about to see his little lady blossom into much much more…

(aka Ginormica)
 Earthling/Team Monster

At the altar, Susan Murphy grows into the scarily large Ginormica, with an edgy name and Freudian problem to tackle: she’s become a 49-foot woman; not quite the gal Derek was planning to carry over the threshold. Susan’s superpower stature was born, inadvertently in 2008, when, right before her wedding, she was hit by a meteor that changed her DNA. Her heroic power: pure energy. Her flaw: accidental destructive behavior, by just being herself. Voiced by Reese Witherspoon, Ginormica is whom we should channel every morning before facing the day.

This single-eyed, robotic looking mechanical beast — one of many probes sent into the universe by the e-e-e-e-vil Gallaxhar — is on a mission to destroy Earth, and the Monsters who defend it, while seeking “quantonium” for his demanding huge-headed master.

Reasoning meets panic? Or panic meets reasoning? You decide which. The General is grizzled yet driven; while the Prez is affable but dense. These ambitious men are trying to keep on top of a problem that’s truly larger than their problem-solving abilities combined. Thank gawwwd the Monsters are there to battle-it-out. General W.R. Monger and the President, voiced by Kiefer Sutherland and Stephen Colbert, respectively, remind us of why we better think twice when voting for our leaders.
