At the end of last month, J.K. Rowling announced that she was officially done with the Harry Potter universe. However, that statement may not have been entirely accurate. Courtesy of Pottermore Presents, three new Harry Potter ebooks are on their way. These bite-sized books will delve back into the Harry Potter universe, and will be a mixture of archival work from Pottermore and original works from J.K. Rowling. The ebooks are entitled Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists, Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies and Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide. They are currently available for pre-order now for $2.99 and will be released on September 6th.
So what are these stories about?
Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists explores the “darker roots of the wizarding world” and includes the background of the Prisoner of Azkaban. There’s also supposed to be a new artctle about Potions professor Horace Slughorn and who he associated with over the years.
In Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies we learn more about the lives of various Hogwarts staff including Care of Magical Creatures teacher Silvanus Kettleburn. There will also be a brand new essay about one of our favorite Hogwarts teachers turned Headmaster, Minerva McGonagall and her involvement in the Second Wizarding World.
Finally Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide focuses on Hogwarts itself, the ghosts that roam the hall,s and the Sorting Hat.
