Mother calls for review into Pete Doherty party death

The mother of a man who died after attending a party with rocker Pete Doherty has called for a review into his death. Mark Blanco perished after plunging from the balcony of an east London apartment in 2006 following a heated confrontation with The Libertines frontman, but Doherty was cleared of any wrongdoing in 2011 and maintains there was no foul play in the incident.
Sheila Blanco is now calling for a review of the case to reconstruct the events that led to her son’s death, insisting it would show his fall was not an accident and that CCTV analysis reveals a second person on the balcony at the time.
Blanco’s mother fears police bungled the original probe into her son’s death, telling British newspaper the Daily Mail, “The first investigation was absolutely riddled with incompetence and negligence.”
An inquest into Blanco’s death ruled out suicide and recorded an open verdict, with the coroner recommending a second investigation.
