Natasha Lyonne has agreed to return for American Reunion, the eighth(!) film in the American Pie series. She joins original stars Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid, Seann William Scott, Mena Suvari, Jennifer Coolidge and Eugene Levy, who have agreed to return to the franchise. The film will follow the characters from American Pie as they return home for their high school reunion and rediscover their old friends.
Lyonne most recently appeared in crime thriller 13, along with Jason Statham and Mickey Rourke. She also starred in horror comedy All About Evil last year.
The American Pie franchise has proven an incredibly long-lives series, spwaning two sequels (American Pie 2 and American Wedding), and four direct-to-DVD spin-offs (featuring a different cast). You have to give them credit for wringing every last drop of money out of that franchise. Maybe.
Now we just have to sit back and wait for everyone to start making saying “this one time, at band camp…”
