A new TV spot for The Bourne Legacy recently debuted during a Bourne-movie marathon, and, as was the case the case with the most recent trailer, Universal makes it clear that Jason Bourne is gone but not forgotten.
In fact, the first line in the clip mentions the character made famous by Matt Damon, while “Aaron Cross” — the Operation Outcome agent played by Jeremy Renner — isn’t heard until almost a third of the way through!
In all fairness, though, such a franchise switcheroo is a tricky proposition, and the trailer succeeds in bringing us up to speed and featuring some very promising-looking action sequences — not to mention big-name Bourne newcomers like Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz.
Check out the trailer below, and don’t miss The Bourne Legacy when it hits theaters Aug. 10.
