New York all-news channel to focus on attack aftermath

New York’s all-news channel, NY1, plans to add a nightly newscast on
Wednesday that will be devoted to the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks
and how they have affected New Yorkers.

The feature, titled New York
Tonight,
is expected to employ a format similar to ABC’s
Nightline, the New York Post reported today.

Steve Paulus, NY1’s general manager, told the newspaper that the reason
for instituting the news program is that “the Trade Center [attack] is
the biggest story to ever happen to New York and we’re a New York City
station.”
