Dance legend Fayard Nicholas has died at his home in California. He was 91.
The African-American siblings broke the color barrier in America and went on to star in Broadway shows before making it big in Hollywood.
The Nicholas Brothers’ Jumpin’ Jive dance sequence in 1943 film Stormy Weather remains one of the movie world’s greatest dancing scenes and they were famous for their splits performances in films like Kid Millions and The Pirate.
Fayard won a Tony Award in 1989 for his choreography work on stage show Black & Blue, and the brothers were awarded Kennedy Center Honors in 1991.
