Nik and Murray | 1985
A documentary about the director's landlords and neighbors, Alwin Nikolais and Murray Louis. Nikolais studied with modern dance icons including Martha Graham during the 1930s at Bennington College. He became a choreographer, and eventually the director of the Henry Street Playhouse, and formed what became the Nikolais Dance Theatre. Murray Louis joined him at Henry Street, becoming his leading dancer, longtime collaborator and an important innovator in the company.
