Orlando Bloom’s The Outpost headed to movie theaters in July

Orlando Bloom‘s upcoming movie, The Outpost, will be one of the first films to return to theaters when it’s released in July (2020).

The film joins Russell Crowe‘s Unhinged among the first wave of movies opening in theatres amid the COVID-19 crisis after venues worldwide were closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Outpost, also starring Scott Eastwood, centers on a 2009 attack by 400 Taliban insurgents at the Battle of Kamdesh during the Afghanistan War. The film is based on Jake Tapper’s best-selling non-fiction book of the same name.

According to Variety, the movie is set to hit 500 theatres on July 2 thanks to bosses at Fathom Events, a joint venture between AMC Theatres, Cinemark, and Regal chains, specializing in one-night screenings, followed by a more limited theatrical run.

The special July 2 screenings will also feature special introductions from select cast members and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
