Penthouse boss Bob Guccione’s life set for TV series treatment

Penthouse founder Bob Guccione is to be the focus of a new TV drama.
The Departed, Gangs of New York, and The Kids Are All Right producer Rick Schwartz and his partners at Jerrick Media are currently interviewing writers for the series, which will be narrated from the perspective of “the women in Guccione’s life”, according to Variety.
And Schwartz is also hoping to find a suitable home for his risque show, so he’s not restricted by network TV guidelines.
“The plan is to do it on cable, Amazon, Netflix or somewhere where we can do it uncensored,” Schwartz says.
The idea for the series came about after Jerrick Media co-founder Jeremy Fromme purchased storage lockers at an auction in New Jersey and discovered one once belonged to Guccione, who died in 2010.
Jerrick spent three years researching Guccione’s life.
