7 People You Forgot Were in The Fast and The Furious Franchise

Eva Mendes, 2 Fast 2 Furious

Since 2001, we’ve had 8 film in The Fast and the Furious franchise, with hundreds of different actors coming and going. The most prominent members of the franchise have always been Vin Diesel as Dominic Torreto, Jordana Brewster as his sister Mia, the late Paul Walker as Mia’s love-interest-turned-husband Brian, and Michelle Rodriguez as Letty, Dom’s girl-turned-brainwash-victim-turned-lover. Many principle characters joined on in later films like Ludacris and Tyrese, but those original 4 have been the glue of the franchise. While we haven’t seen the last film yet, with Fast 8 set for a 2017 release, let’s look back on some of the characters we totally forgot about over the years.

1
Ja Rule - The Fast and the Furious

It's been 15 years since the original The Fast and the Furious film, so we'll forgive you if you forgot Ja Rule's role of  Edwin in this movie. Obviously Ja didn't just act in the film, he was also heavily featured on the soundtrack with the songs "Furious", "Race Against Time Part 2", "Life Ain'ta Game", and "Good Life (Remix)".

Michael Ealy - 2 Fast 2 Furious

For some awful reason, 2 Fast 2 Furious didn't have Vin Diesel, but thankfully casting directors gave us the beautiful Michael Ealy as Slap Jack, who is part of the Miami street racing crew. 2 Fast 2 Furious was one of Ealy's very first acting roles.

Eva Mendes - 2 Fast 2 Furious

It's been about 13 years since Eva Mendes was in the Fast and the Furious franchise, and unlike many early characters, her character Monica Fuentes, an undercover U.S. Customs Service agent, never returned. We guess once Paul Walker's character got back with Jordana Brewster, there was no need for Eva.

Now you may have forgotten all about Bow Wow, because you are one of many folks who avidly skip over Tokyo Drift when rewatching these films. As none of the original cast appeared in this film, except for a tiny cameo by Vin at the end, Bow Wow was the main supporting role in this film.
5
Gal Gadot - Fast & Furious

Once we got to the fourth film in this franchise, the movies really began to blur together. Gal Gadot (AKA the new Wonder Woman) has played Gisele in the franchise since the 4th installment. If you're anything like us, you completely forgot her appearance came all the way back in the fourth film in 2009, and instead thought it was Fast Five, or was it Fast & Furious 6?

Elsa Pataky - Fast Five

As we mentioned these movies have all started to blur together (Fast and Furious - Fast & Furious 6 all feel like the same movie), so you may have been surprised in Furious 7 when Elsa Pataky showed up, but she originated the character of Elena in Fast Five (the same movie Hobbs AKA The Rock appeared).

Gina Carano - Fast & Furious 6

There has been so many fight scenes in this franchise, you might not remember them all. But Gina Carano's role as Riley in the sixth film has one of the best fight scenes against Michelle Rodrgiuez, we suggest you rewatch it to refresh your mind!
